Shayne Packer – Devoted family man. Husband. Father of five children. Grandfather of 11 grandchildren.
I am a professional Internet entrepreneur and technology consultant. I love technology such as the Macintosh, the iPhone, and the Internet. My hobbies include woodworking, gardening, photography, hiking, geocaching, and much more.
Background
I am an entrepreneur at heart. In 1980, I bought my first computer, an Apple II, for my business, a furniture and waterbed store in Arizona. I loved writing games for my kids. My wife and I decided to return to Brigham Young University and finish our degrees. I changed my major to Computer Science.
During college, we had to sacrifice and live cheaply. I loved BYU and the spiritual perspective taught there. It was the most rewarding time of my life: raising a family, going to school, and learning.
In 1984, I bought a Mac and sold my Apple II. After I graduated from BYU, I worked for 17 years as a software engineer developing Macintosh applications. I really enjoyed designing hi-tech apps. But after a few of the companies I worked for were bought and down-sized, my entrepreneurial spirit kicked back in gear.
So I started investing in real estate. I signed up for an advanced education program from a great company that teaches real estate investing, Internet marketing, and other courses. I developed a luxury loft apartment in Savannah, GA, and have rehabbed several houses. Recently, I’ve put real estate investing on the back burning for awhile.
Current work
Now I am full-time Internet entrepreneur developing several websites. It’s hard work. It’s what I love doing the most! I love technology, and I love being a grandparent.
